Why I want to make the film.
I originally wrote Ending An Affair without knowing who would play the leading woman. Then I met Ashley Seay, a talented Black autistic woman and woodblock artist.
After learning about Ashley and seeing her artwork, I returned to the script and rewrote the lead role specifically for her.
More The Representation
Black creators have spent too long asking the entertainment industry to represent us fairly. It is time to finance our own projects, employ our own people, and control how our stories are presented through film and media.
Ashley will not be included as a background character or used as a symbol of diversity. She will be the leading actress. Her artwork will be visible, credited, and promoted.
She will also be compensated for what she contributes. Also the director Kilby Walker will own right to this films.
That is the representation I believe in: opportunity, visibility, credit, ownership, and fair pay.

Meet Ashley Seay
Ashley Seay is a Black autistic artist specializing in original woodblock artwork. Ending An Affair will introduce audiences to Ashley as both a visual artist and a performer.

You do not have to contribute to the film to support Ashley’s career. You can purchase her artwork, commission an original piece, or contact her about another artistic opportunity.

We Plan on offering the film to a number of independant Black networks but if a distribution deal can not be made, we will just release the film free on social media.
