About Cedric Long, The Corrupt Author
Short Bio
Cedric Long is the author behind The Corrupt Author, a fiction brand focused on emotionally driven stories featuring complex Black characters. His work explores identity, relationships, beauty, family, self-worth, and the complicated decisions people make while discovering who they are.
Full Bio
Cedric Long began writing fiction in 2014 and published his first novel in 2017. His early work was influenced by his experiences working inside Alabama's correctional system, which also helped inspire the name The Corrupt Author.
Over time, his work developed into character-driven fiction centered on Black experiences, with a particular interest in complicated female protagonists.
Long wants readers to do more than understand his characters. He wants them to remember them... to laugh with them, become frustrated with them, argue about their decisions, hurt for them, and miss them after the final page.
His recent work includes Bela Menina and the upcoming novel Black Panties.
